The I HEART BILOXI PROJECT is a way to help people affected by Hurricane Katrina to get the finishing touches on their new houses, or rehabbed houses that make them really feel like home. All projects will be built by volunteers.

The money for these houses are raised through sales of the I heart Biloxi Shirt. $10 from each shirt goes to the project! You can buy these shirts and help out THE BILOXI PROJECT at the Zenorschnitzel Store! They are only $20

Update: We will be announcing project #2 shortly! Thank you so much for helping us raise the money to build Miss Patience a fence.

Miss Patience was one of the first people to have a new house in East Biloxi, and was one of the first houses that the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio designed. She has always wanted a white picket fence, but it is difficult for normal volunteer groups to raise money for the construction of the houses much more a fence. So, project number one of the I HEART BILOXI PROJECT is to build the lovely Miss Patience a White Picket Fence!!!!

The estimated cost for the materials to build Miss Patience's Fence is $250. The white pickets below show the money we have raised. The blue pickets show the money we have yet to raise.

UPDATE: 10-05-07 - We have raised all of the money for this project, and we have added a few tasks to this project. We are adding a walk way from her porch to her new gate. There is also power pole in the middle of her yard and we have been working with the various utility companies for the last two weeks to get that taken down. It hopefully will be coming down today, finally. If the powerpole is removed today, then we will be building her gate this weekend.
